Today is American Censorship Day and many front pages of the internet are sporting a banner (like ours above) against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), covering their own logos with “STOP CENSORSHIP” banners.
The bill, which saw a House Judiciary Committee today, would require Internet providers to deny access to users trying to access websites that profit from publishing copyrighted material. So, no more piratebay, movie watching sites, no more .rar and .zip downloads, no more seeing what it’s like before you buy it – no more “average day” on the internet as we know it.
